Safety Aspects
Providing safety to vehicle owners and avoiding tragic accidents is at the heart of Cobra’s mission. No official statistics are being published in Europe about the cost of low speed accidents – in terms of repair and insurance, but more importantly of human lives.
In the United States however, the North American association ‘Kids and Cars’ maintains a national database tracking deaths and injuries to children left unattended in or around motor vehicles, as currently no federal or state agency is collecting information related to non-traffic incidents on private property. In 49.5% of the cases, fatalities are caused during rear manoeuvres.
How Does It Work?
Cobra Park Master uses 4 ultrasonic sensors fitted to the rear bumper, strategically positioned to detect close obstacles and transmit an audible warning signal to the driver.
The detected obstacle will be indicated by an intermittent beep, increasing in frequency until it becomes a continuous tone as the vehicle moves closer to the obstacle.
Sensors can be painted to match the vehicle colour, so owners can benefit from the system’s practicality without compromising on style.
Parkmaster Makes Reversing Easier And Safer
Car drivers can now benefit from an innovative new reverse parking aid which helps to protect their investment in their new or used vehicle. ParkMaster, from leading vehicle security supplier Cobra, can also help to prevent injury to pedestrians and playing children who are oblivious to the hazard of a reversing vehicle.
It is often impossible to judge how much room is available when reversing into a parking space, especially in vehicles with restricted rear vision. Parkmaster automatically creates an invisible detection zone immediately reverse gear is selected. As the vehicle is reversed towards an obstacle, ParkMaster’s audio signal emits an audible warning which increases in frequency until the tone becomes continuous at a distance of 30cm.
An increasing number of new vehicles are being fitted with reverse parking aids. Now, car owners can purchase a quality product which will protect their investment at relatively low cost.
The only external visible evidence that ParkMaster has been installed is a row of four neat, unobtrusive sensors on the rear bumper. The control unit and wiring are located equally neatly in the boot of the vehicle.
Cobra Parkmaster
- Activated automatically as reverse gear is selected
- Short conformation beep is heard to indicate the system is activated
- Objects between 120cm – 2m the system will omit a regular beep
- Objects between 30cm – 120cm the beep will increase in frequency as you draw nearer
- Objects up to 30cm (system close zone) the system will omit a continuous beep
The Rear Obstacle Detection system is activated automatically when reverse gear is selected.
The sensor eyes emit an acoustic field around the rear of the vehicle. The system thenevaluates the waveforms and calculates the distance from objects around the bumper area;these signals are in turn converted instantly to an audible beeper hidden within the vehicle.

- The system beeps once whenan obstacle isbetween 200cm& 120cm away,(safety zone)
- A repeated beeping begins when an obstacle is between 120cm & 30cm away and increases in frequency as the obstacle becomes closer (Alert zone)
- A constant beep is emitted when the vehicle enters the (maximum alert zone) between30cm & 0 from an obstacle.
