What is A Clutch?

The clutch on your car is an essential part and while your probably only use to pressing the peddle every time you want to change gear there is a whole lot more going on that you don’t see.

The clutch plates on your car are kept together by springs while you are driving and when you press the clutch pedal down they then separate and this is when you can smoothly change gears. The clutch gets used a lot more so than your brakes and this why it wears out and it will eventually need replacing for a new one.

What are the signs that you need a new clutch?

You cant actually see a clutch as its located deep in your engine bay and so it is out of sight so it is not always easy to know when they are in need of replacing.
